HCRQ, INC. SYSTEM & SOFTWARE SAFETY EXPERTS

WHO WE ARE

Picture

HCRQ is a proven industry leader in system safety and are proud to be some of the early pioneers in software safety.

We have been:
  • providing consulting services in these areas since 1986, and
  • teaching internationally renowned courses since 1992.

There are different pedigrees of system safety and software safety engineers.  The main reason for this is the lack of certification requirements.  We can state with confidence that we are very experienced in our field, providing expert advice.

It is not uncommon for those who interface with us, even when there are no contracts in place, to trust us implicitly.  We
continue to receive confidential calls (questions) from U.S. Government and corporate staff members.

Clients utilize us to enhance their image in front of their clients/potential clients.  It would indeed be a rare event if the end clients' knowledge and expertise exceeded ours.  Many of our clients (236) are repeat clients.

Our technical staff have electrical engineering and computer science degrees.  Many of us, earlier in our careers, were designers of safety-significant systems.

We have managed multiple multi-year system safety programs and, on occasion, have been hired to manage our clients' safety engineers.  We have either chaired or been members of SSWGs and SwSWGs.  Our customers have confidence in us to the point of representing them solo at meetings with their clients.

In many ways, HCRQ has been distinct since its inception in 1986, with our services being requested following the THERAC-25 cancer therapy machine software-caused accidents, then following a nuclear reactor software-caused accident.  Click here to see our extensive experience with Forensic Safety Assessment.

Since those early days, our scope increased to include all safety-significant sectors.  Being dedicated to excellence in our profession, we evolved to become the gold standard:  the reason why customers seek us out.

We are intimately familiar with all system safety and software safety concepts, standards, and guidelines (examples of our familiarities). In addition to system safety and software safety, HCRQ also offers expertise in RAM, and QA/QC.
As a side note, in our history we have been interviewed on TV.

We are proud to say that our Chief Technical Officer (CTO) is Hunter Austegard.

A bit of trivia:  What does HCRQ stand for?  "H"onesty, "C"aring, "R"eliable, "Q"uality.
