SOFTWARE DESIGN ASSURANCE

HCRQ can develop your initial planning documents if your software project is subject to RTCA DO-178 or DO-278.  Based on the hazard analysis, HCRQ will determine the appropriate Design Assurance Level (DAL) and develop either the Plan for Software Aspect of Certification (PSAC) for airborne systems, or the Plan for Software Aspects for Approval (PSAA) for ground systems.  HCRQ's engineers can also work with your software engineers by offering
design recommendations which can result in a lower DAL, significantly reducing your cost of development.

HCRQ can further support your DO-178 / DO-278 project by examining your current software development processes for compliance with the objectives in the Standard.  HCRQ will develop a Gap Analysis outlining where your current software development processes meets the objectives in DO-178 / DO-278 and will work with your software engineers to develop strategies for meeting objectives where gaps are present.
