Preparing For MIL-STD-882E

This is a comprehensive webinar covering MIL-STD-882E. This webinar is intended for those who are already familiar with MIL-STD-882.

Is "E" similar to "C"? There is similarity.

Is its terminology similar? Yes but not the same. In addition, "E" defines new terms (e.g., safety-significant, safety-related, LOR, SSSF, SCF, SCI, SRF, SRI, event risk).

Is its task approach similar? Yes. Like "C", "E" is "task" driven with tasks covering the things you have come to know such as SSPP, PHL, PHA, SSHA, SHA, SAR, O&SHA, Hazard Tracking, etc. That said, one cannot state that the requirements for the "E" task = requirements for the "C" task with the same name.

There are dilemmas (e.g., some things that are flat-out wrong), surprises, and confusion waiting (e.g., get ready to modify your Hazard Tracking System (HTS)).

There are new tasks (e.g., Hazard Management Plan (HMP) , System Requirements Hazard Analysis (SRHA) , Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) , System-of-Systems (SoS) Hazard Analysis).

You should be ready to bid projects based on this new version and HCRQ is here to prepare you.

Feedback

"Oh, crap! I am glad I attended."

"I don't know why this class is not packed. People are in for a rude awakening."

"Very illuminating. I particularly liked the discussion of 882E's implicit requirements."

"If we had simply read "E", instead of attending your webinar, we would not have fully appreciated its impact on us."

Insight

Insight, into MIL-STD-882, is based on 23 years of experience in system safety, consulting on MIL-STD-882B, MIL-STD-882C, and MIL-STD-882D projects. HCRQ also performed a sentence-by-sentence comparison between MIL-STD-882E, MIL-STD-882D, and MIL-STD-882C.
